The Basics of the Zen Garden

Well good morning this is a hero Roman sit up what we’re going to be doing today is to learn some basics of the same garden okay okay now in the same concept what we’re trying to do is to tell a story create something that is suggestive of something greater with minimal amount of objects so Streisand it doesn’t tell much of a story other than wow it’s kind of lonesome here the rock oh and you go oh I’ve seen that rock before well anyway it’s gonna be part of the garden okay so we take that from you know your rock and I’ll be placing it for you as the front so I’m looking at the back side so we place the rock like so remember bearing it to its widest point to rocks there’s a 1 and a 2 okay now the most common and the thing to remember is the number 3 or more importantly the triangle so as we get into that we’ll take the third Rock and places this is the second so there is a sort of a triangle although these two are a little close what you could do is take one and really making it deep so that one two three in height but from the overhead shot one two three a triangle but not an equilateral triangle we try to do a balance without symmetry in the Japanese approach different configuration of the same Rock one two three right one two three and from the overhead shot you can see that there is a triangle and when you look from the front view yes tall middle and short so there’s a number of different ways that you could do your one two three with the same rocks and that’s sort of the challenge is how the same three rocks as we look from the overhead once again that triangle and in from the front view tall middle short show you another aspect of the Zen garden now to sort of complete this arrangement and put the final touches what we’re going to do is take a rake and run interesting patterns if you look at those famous gardens in Kyoto quite often they run these straight lines right and it’ll take this deal and circle this this is kind of the one of the solutions that we do with gardens and Gardens now this is what we refer to as a tabletop Zen garden of you out there that are kind of compulsive or collector of rocks I mean I’ve hear stories about people with boxes of rocks they collected over the years from their travels and it’s just in a box in the garage or somewhere like that now all you have to do is build this little box right then you take your little hobby of collecting rocks and turn it into a art form actually better the rock higher the heart form so think about that and you know what the other thing too is this is we call it really high level art it’s nothing but a sandbox so we could be kids and we call it art and we’re just having fun like we always did in the sandbox but it’s camouflaged so that it’s a high art form and all we do is to play in the sand so this is Hiro saying well goodbye you go look for your rocks and get your sand and have fun keep checking my website messy Oh calm I’ll come up with plenty more interesting things and some of their cookies if you have a cat make sure you put a cover over this before you put it away I made the mistake when I had Panther guess what I have to dump all the sand and really really clean the box so once again Dubai high just keep those tips in mind before you go out and make your fancy adult sandbox
